Priorities

As a first generation, non-traditional Latina college student, the path to college had its set backs. My own experience demonstrated first hand that we must set aspirations for students, not limitations. Higher education, whether it be the Trades, Certification, learning a new skill or College, must be encouraged at every opportunity because our community deserves a livable wage - notminimum wage.

  • Focus on underserved and underresourced populations. Increase basic needs services, financial aid, including access to mental health resources.

  • Students need mentors, they need counselors, they need a College that will provide them a pathway to a livable wage job. Students and the community need more reasonable access on critical policy decisions.

  • Prioritize higher graduation rates, seamless university transitions, new skill acquisition, and certification program improvement. Emphasize collaborative support systems for empowering students in their chosen paths.
